Vincent “Bubbles” DiBernard, 97, of Sunnyside Manor in Wall, New Jersey, died Aug. 8, 2017, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Born in Netcong to Cesario and Anna (Togno), he lived in Rockaway Township until he retired. He served in the Army during World War II, after which he worked in quality control at Picatinny Arsenal for more than 30 years.
A lifelong Yankees fan, Vincent moved to Holiday City-Berkeley after retiring. He and his wife loved to travel both nationally and internationally. He was a member of the Holiday City Men’s Club and Golf Club. Even into his 90s, he volunteered weekly at a paper drive that supported the local first aid squad. Every Saturday evening, he attended Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Toms River, where he was a parishioner.
Vincent was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine (Esposito), in 2005. He is survived by daughters Barbara DiBernard (Judith Gibson), Joan Stopa; grandchildren Stefanie Stopa Marchetti (Anthony), Justin Stopa, and Lauren Stopa; great grandchildren Joshua and Sarah Marchetti; a brother, Leonard, and sister, Catherine Norgard; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He loved his family and was very proud of them. He will be deeply missed by all.
A Memorial Gathering will be held Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m., at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ 08755. Committal will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
