Emanuel George Sanoudes, passed away quietly in his sleep on Monday July 30, 2018 at Monmouth Care Center, Long Branch, N.J. at the age of 94. He was formally a longtime resident of Holiday City South in Toms River with his wife Voula. He is preceded in death by his wife Voula, his brother John Sanoudis, and his nephew George Sanoudis.
He was born and raised in New York City, N.Y., by his parents George and Urania Sanoudis.
Emanuel proudly served his country as a seaman first class while in the US Navy during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was a skilled welder as well. Honorably discharged in March 1946.
He was a Mechanical Drawing Technician with Picattiny Arsenal in Morris County for many years, before retiring to Toms River. He and his wife were members of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church. His favorite hobby was listening to hot jazz of his era and he had an avid interest in playing the drums.
Surviving are his nieces Barbara Sanoudis, Chrysanthe Sanoudis-Sannino.
As well as many other nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday August 9, 2018 from 10:30am to a 12:30am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ.
Prayer services will follow the viewing and the burial will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J., promptly at 2:00 p.m.
