Bridget (Bridie) Kilgarriff died peacefully Friday, January 13, 2017 in Bluffton, South Carolina. Bridie was born in 1925 and grew up in Ballinlough, a small town in County Roscommon, Ireland the daughter of Patrick and Rose Bailey. In 1947, she was married to Michael Robert Kilgarriff in the Cathedral of Tuam, Galway Ireland. In 1949 they moved to the United States where they raised their family in North Plainfield, New Jersey before retiring in Toms River, New Jersey. Michael preceded her in death in 2003. They were married for 56 blissful years.
She is survived by her children and spouses; Margaret (Lewis) Franklin, Nesconset, NY, Rene (Ed) Gallo, Bluffton, SC, Robert (Christine) Kilgarriff, Eagan, MN, Jimmy (Fawn) Kilgarriff, Annandale, NJ; 5 loving grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; one sister Rose Bailey; two brothers Martin (Kathleen) Bailey and John (Bridget) Bailey. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her brothers Patrick and Andy; and her sisters Kathleen and Mary.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ on Wednesday, January 18, from 2 to 5. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 19, at 10:30 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, New Jersey. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
